In Sriharikota on July 14, the heavylift LVM3-M4 rocket carrying Chandrayaan 3, the Indian Space Research Organization’s third lunar mission, was launched.

in August 23 at 5:47 p.m., the mission’s Vikram lander is scheduled to gently land in the Moon’s South Pole area.

After a countdown of 25.30 hours, the LVM3-M4 rocket, known as “Fat Boy” and the biggest and heaviest in its class, magnificently blasted out from the second launch pad at 2.35 p.m., sending up heavy clouds of smoke in the process.

The current lunar mission comes after the Chandrayaan-2 mission, which will launch in 2019 and aims for a gentle lunar landing.
